However, this quality comes at a price, and thus, I recommend Miele vacuums for people on a generous budget. If you are looking for the best cheap vacuum, here is a list I created for you.

Why Buy a Miele vacuum
Before I get to the core of this review, here are a few reasons why you should invest in a Miele vacuum despite the high price point.
- Quiet Operation – First, all Miele vacuums are quiet. You can clean without worrying about startling your pets or waking up the kids. The quietness is thanks to the innovations that suspend the motor reducing vibrations and recent additions of a fully encased motor, and insulation.
- Superior Filtration – If you are looking for a device that will ensure you have quality indoor air, free of allergens and other pollutants, then get a Miele. First, the units use diaper (9-ply bag) thick bags that ensure no dirt escapes, and they are completely sealed. The appliances also include HEPA filters or charcoal filters to eliminate pet odor.
- Easy to Operate – Miele vacuums are light and are quite maneuverable. Miele is renowned for its canister vacuums with 360-degree rotating caster wheels that allow you to pull in any direction. Most Miele vacuums have a soft bumper to protect the device and furniture from bumps.
- Customizable and Versatile – With a slew of accessories and cleaner heads, Miele vacuums offer versatility like never before. Moreover, Miele vacuums will superbly clean hard floors and carpets with ease. If for nothing else get a Miele for the excellent performance they offer.

Best Miele Vacuum Cleaners Reviews 2020
Here is the complete review of each of the units. With a full list of pros and cons.
1. Miele Complete C3 Marin Canister Vacuum
The Miele Complete C3 Marin is not only the best Miele vacuum; it also happens to be the best splurge.
First, it has 360-degree caster wheels that allow you to pull it in any direction. Next, it has two cleaner heads, a crevice tool, upholstery tool, a dusting brush, and a telescopic wand. These accessories increase versatility, but I loved the floor heads most.
One of the floor heads, the Electro Premium Electrobrush is one of Miele’s top-end floor tools and is best for carpets. It has LED lights for dark areas and can cover large spaces in a few passes thanks to the 13-3/8-inch brushroll. The Parquet twister head, on the other hand, is for smooth floors such as delicate hardwood and laminate. It also swivels getting into tight spaces with ease.
- The electrobush is height adjustable and can clean high to low pile carpets
- It is effective on pet hair
- It has strong suction
- It has superb filtration
- The powered floor head is bulky
- It is pricey
I believe you should get a feel of the Miele C3 Marin. Watch the video below to get a better feel.
2. Miele Dynamic U1 Maverick Upright Vacuum
(Best Miele Upright Vacuum)
We are creatures of habit, and I understand changing from upright vacuums to canister vacuums might be a pain. Therefore, if you are looking for all features of a Miele but in an upright, I recommend you get the Miele Dynamic U1 Maverick.
Like all Miele vacuums, it has a sealed system and will not leak unfiltered air. The filtration is multi-stage; the air is first passed through the dirt bag, then through a pre-motor filter, and finally through the 3-ply post-motor filter which is capable of trapping minute dirt. It is not a HEPA filter though you can purchase one.
The Maverick has the Electrobrush brushroll which you can turn off when cleaning hard floors. Moreover, it incorporates automatic height adjustment that moves the brushroll up and down, depending on the surface you are cleaning.
Finally, it has a 51-ft reach thanks to the 39-ft code and the 12-ft hose.
- The hose is crush-proof
- The variable suction is handy
- You can buy a HEPA and odor filter, and they will fit the Maverick
- It can lay flat allowing you to clean under furniture
- It is a bulky vacuum
- Pushing on deep pile carpets is challenging
If you want to see Dynamic U1 Maverick in action, here is a short review. It should tell you why I consider it one of the best Miele vacuums.
3. Miele Swing H1 Tactical Vacuum
(Best Miele Stick Vacuum)
The Miele Swing H1 is the best Miele vacuum if you are looking for a stick appliance. It weighs 9.4-pounds and is excellent for quick cleanups. If you are wondering which surfaces it is best for, I recommend it for low pile carpets and hard floors. The rug and floor combination tool will not clean deep-pile carpets effectively.
As for power, it is a suction unit with 96CFM. Though suction is great on hard floors, I would not recommend it for high-pile rugs. Another feature I believe you will appreciate is that you can rotate the main nozzle and clean in any direction.
As for accessories, it includes a crevice tool and upholstery tool, and though this does not increase versatility, it covers the basics. You can convert it into a handheld at the push of a button, and finally, you will appreciate the 26-ft operating radius.
- It is easy to push
- It has strong suction
- It is light
- Storage will be a breeze seeing as it is a stick vacuum
- It is not wireless. A feature we have come to expect in stick vacuums
- The Obsidian black gets white marks quickly
If you are looking for stick vacuums, here is a guide of the best stick vacuums. Moreover, there are not that many Miele stick vacuums, and I believe you should watch the review below before purchasing.
4. Miele Blizzard CX1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum
(Best Miele Bagless Vacuum)
One shortcoming of bagged vacuums is the maintenance cost as you have to buy bags. If you are on the hunt for Miele quality without the expense of consumables, get the Blizzard.
Bagless vacuums have a problem when it comes to emptying the bin. Fine dust flies off and settles on your furniture. However, this is a thing of the past with the Blizzard. The vortex tech eliminates large and coarse debris and stores it in the main bin. You can empty the large waste without it flying off.
Fine dust, on the other hand, is stored in a secondary compartment which you empty once every six months. However, you first have to fill it with water to prevent fine dust from flying off.
- It has two cleaner heads for carpets and hard floors
- It has a HEPA filter for superior filtration
- The dust canisters are easy to empty
- It is durable
- It is expensive
- The performance on deep-pile carpets is poor
The Miele Blizzard CX1 is a great vacuum for people who are looking for a cheap to maintain Miele vacuum. Here is a complete review of the device.
5. Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog Vacuum
(Best for Pet Hair)
The best Miele vacuum for pet hair has to be the complete C3 Cat and Dog. First, it is durable, and you can expect it to last at least 20-years.
As for the features, the Miele Complete C3 has two powerheads for different surfaces. The powered head for carpets, and the bare tool for floors. The powered floor head has a 5-height adjustment that allows you to clean different pile carpets with ease. But why is it ideal for pet hair?
Well, it is all thanks to the turbo tool and filtration. The powered brush is designed to remove pet hair from upholstery and drapes with ease. Other tools included are the crevice tool and the dusting brush. As for the filtration, you will love the post-motor filter as it is filled with charcoal to help eliminate pet odors. Moreover, it will trap 99.95% of allergens and other pollutants.
- It is durable thanks to the ABS plastic construction
- It has foot pedals that allow you to control 6-levels of suction
- The vacuum and consumables are expensive
6. Miele Complete C2 Hard Floor Vacuum
(Best for Hard Floors)
If you are looking for the best Miele vacuum for hard floors, then get the Miele Complete C2 Hard Floor. Though this includes two cleaner heads, don’t expect the combination floor tool to work on medium or deep pile carpets. However, it is great for hard floors and low-pile carpets.
The AllTeQ combination head has soft bristles for cleaning hard floors. Nevertheless, the bristles are retracted when cleaning carpets to reduce the loss of suction. Miele has also included a Parquet Twister if you want maneuverability.
You can also adjust suction thanks to the rotary dial. The suction dial will come in handy when you have to clean surfaces that need lower suction. Finally, you will appreciate the 33-ft cleaning radius, the retractable cord, and the crush-proof hose.
- The rocker footswitch allows you to change from carpet to hard floors without bending
- The accessories and cleaner heads are lock fit and will not fall off
- The wand is stainless steel, and you can expect it to last
- It is powerful
- The power cord is short
- There is no power on/off switch on the handle
If you are curious about the Complete C2 here is a short review to understand the unit better.
7. Miele Dynamic U1 Cat and Dog Vacuum
(Best Miele Upright for Pet)
One benefit of Miele vacuums is that they maintain the features in the primary unit and change the accessories, filter, and the color. The Miele Dynamic U1 Cat and Dog is similar to the Maverick only that it is white while the Maverick is black.
Other differences are the included tools and filtration. The Cat and Dog vacuum has a turbo brush for pet hair which is not in the Maverick. Moreover, it has odor filters, unlike the Maverick.
As for the core features, it has a 46-ft operating radius allowing you to clean without having to change outlets. It is powerful on carpets owing to the electrobrush, and it has height adjustability for low to high-pile carpets.
- It can lie flat to clean under furniture
- It is robust and will make short work of pet hair
- It clogs easily, and it is almost impossible to clean the clogs
- It is weighty, and you should never attempt to lift it with the handle
Miele Dynamic Variants
As you are aware, Miele provides the same vacuum but changes some of the features for different cleaning needs. The Miele Uprights, also known as Dynamic U1, are no exception and you will get different units for different needs. The Maverick above is an excellent device as is this Dynamic U1 Cat & Dog. However, there are two other variants of the Miele Dynamic U1 that you should consider.
Top of the line of the Miele Upright is the Miele Powerline & Homecare. If you are looking to splurge on a Miele Upright, this is the unit for you. It packs quite a punch and has a HEPA filter to maintain high air quality. It also uses an electrobrush for those demanding tasks.
Another Miele Upright variant is the Miele Powerline.
8. Miele RX1 Scout Robot Vacuum
(Best Miele Robot Vacuum)
Miele has only one Robot vacuum, and it has the same shortcomings on most robot vacuums. More on that shortly. It does have some few strong points though.
First, the RX1 Scout is a round device, and getting around furniture will be a breeze. However, it will struggle with corners. It does have some side spinning brushes that will push dirt into the path of the vacuum though. The Miele has a roller brush for carpets and a squeegee which will come in handy when cleaning hard floors. However, the unit cannot deep clean and is best for light tasks.
Seeing as it is a Robot vacuum, I have to address the runtime. It can clean for 2-hours and charges for 2-hrs as well. Finally, I loved that it has a clock that you can use to set a cleaning schedule.
- It has four cleaning modes increasing the versatility
- The charge time is short, but the 2-hrs runtime is long
- It includes a remote control and a metallic strip to set boundaries
- The cleaning performance is below what we have come to expect from Miele
- It struggles with corners
- It is pricey
The Miele RX1 Scout is not like most robot vacuums. It is better, but it happens to be slightly tricky to navigate. Here is a short video that will help you navigate the unit better.
9. Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction Vacuum
The Best Miele Vacuum when it comes to price is the Miele Classic C1 Pure Suction. But just so we are clear, it is a budget pick only in Miele Standards. Compared to other vacuums, it is still pricey.
Starting with the performance, the Miele Classic C1 is a beast. It is nice knowing that Miele did not skimp on the performance to lower the price. It picks up large and small debris on carpets and hard floors with ease. It includes two cleaning brushes and the different combinations you get allow the extra versatility.
As for the reach, it is about 26-inches with an 18-inch cord. The cord self-retracts for straightforward storage. Finally, you can adjust suction to clean different surfaces with ease.
- It is affordable (when compared to other Miele vacuums)
- It follows you effortlessly owing to the caster wheels
- It has superior filtration
- It is powerful
- The graphic representation on the vacuum is difficult to decipher. However, it will be easy to work with once you figure things out
Other than the Classic C1 pure suctions, there are other machines in the Classic series which you should consider. Check the buying guide below for the difference between the Miele Classic, Compact, and Complete vacuums.
If you are looking for a classic that can clean upholstery with ease, I recommend the Classic C1 Turbo Team. It is nothing short of remarkable thanks to the Turbo brush. It also has a parquet floor brush which is not included in the pure suction vacuum. However, you will pay more for the C1 Turbo Team.
The Classic C1 Cat & Dog is designed to handle pet hair. The primary unit is similar to that of the C1 Pure Suction and the Turbo Team. However, unlike the other 2, the Classic C1 Cat and Dog uses the odor filter instead of the HEPA or Standard filter. You can purchase the filters separately though.
Moreover, the C1 Cat and Dog is quiet thanks to the insulation and better engineering. If you want a vacuum you can use around pets; I recommend the Classic C1 Cat & Dog. It has a flexible turbo brush for cleaning pet hair off upholstery and has a stainless telescopic wand over the classic comfort wand.
Finally, it has all the standard accessories such as the crevice tool and dusting brush not present in the Pure Suction and Turbo Team. One shortcoming though is the hefty price. I don’t think the few differences warrant such a price difference with the C1 Pure Suction.
10. Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat and Dog Vacuum
(Best Bagless for Pets)
When it comes to creating different Miele vacuums, Miele maintains all the features in the Primary team but alters the accessories, the filters, and the color. So you use the same power available on Miele Blizzard vacuums to deal with pet hair.
The CX1 Cat and Dog is the best Miele vacuum for pet odors and pet hair. First, unlike other Cat and Dog vacuums, the CX1 does not have an odor filter but a HEPA filter. However, you can buy an odor filter, and it will fit the unit perfectly without compromising the indoor air quality.
The Electrobrush packs enough power to eliminate pet hair from carpets; especially medium-pile carpets. It also has a handheld turbo brush for removing hair from upholstery.
Other than these differences the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat and Dog has the same features as any other Blizzard. It separates fine dust from coarse dirt, and it has the same elegant feature for cleaning the fine dust filter.
- It is powerful
- Emptying the canister is hygienic
- It makes short work of pet hair
- It is only ideal for medium and low pile carpets. It is not for high pile carpets.
Other Miele Blizzard CX1 Variants
So far we have discussed 2 Miele Blizzard vacuums. Here are some variants that you might want to consider. For hard floors, get the Miele Blizzard Pure Suction. The pure suction is best for hard floors though it has a combination tool that you can use on low pile carpets.
Another variant is the CX1 Electro + Powerline that is ideal for deep cleaning carpets. It is almost similar to the CX1 Cat and Dog, but it does not have a turbo tool for pet hair. Finally, we have the Miele Blizzard CX1 HomeCare PowerLine. It happens to be the best splurge and has superior performance. The Electrobrush also has LED lights for illuminating dark areas.
Before I get into the Miele Vacuum Buying Guide, you should be aware that Miele vacuums are more similar than they are different. As you might have realized, they are all variants of the same device. Though one might think this is a shortcoming, I think it is a strength as it makes the device customizable.
Miele Vacuum Buying Guide
Miele vacuums are nothing short of exceptional. From the cleaning performance to the filtration and the maneuverability; they are just breathtaking. However, they are for different tasks. Here are some few things to consider when on the hunt for a Miele Vacuum.
What do you need it for?
Before purchasing a Miele Vacuum, or any other vacuum for that matter, you ought to have a rough idea of how you are going to use it. If your house has 5% carpets and 95% hard floors, you should invest in a Pure Suction Miele Vacuum. For homes with 95% carpet and 5%, hard floors invest in a Miele with the Electro brush.
Moreover, you should check the accessories. To clean upholstery, I recommend any of the Turbo Team Miele vacuums as each has a turbo brush. For pets, get any of the Cat & Dog Miele vacuums.
Other than the application, you should also stop and consider the type of appliance you want. Miele manufactures everything from canister to robot vacuums. They have upright vacuums and one stick vacuum.
If you are familiar with Upright vacuums, I encourage you to stick to Miele uprights. Adjusting to canister vacuums is a bit difficult. However, uprights are not ideal for stairs and hauling them up and down will be a task.
Canister vacuums, on the other hand, are remarkable given their maneuverability. You will love that you can change the cleaner heads and it will be a different device. Miele canister vacuums are also ideal as they follow you and you can haul them up and down stairs with ease.
As for the stick and Robot vacuums, I recommend them for light tasks.
Before we get started on the performance, you should be aware of the different filter types. First, there is the Miele HEPA filter. This is ideal for superior filtration. They will trap all allergens and pollutants with ease.
Another Miele filter is the Miele Super Air Clean Filter. This is just a standard filter. It is not as effective as the HEPA, but it is a top-quality product. Finally, there is an odor filter, which is excellent for people with pets.
Despite having three different has different filters, they are of the same design, and you can swap the filters. You can swap the charcoal filters for the HEPA filter and vice versa. No other vacuum offers such versatility when it comes to filters.
I believe the Miele Canister vacuums are the best of all Miele vacuums. However, given the wide selection of cleaner heads, it becomes a bit difficult to discern, which is the best. If you are looking for superior cleaning performance, especially on carpets and if you have some dimly lit areas, get a vacuum that retails with the elcetro brush.
The electro brush is Miele’s best cleaner head and will make short work of all your carpets. It also has LED lights to clean dimly lit areas. However, it is pricey. If you are looking for nearly the same cleaning performance, and you are willing to sacrifice the LED lights, then get the SBT 205-3 brush.
As for hard floors, you are in luck as most Miele vacuums retail with the parquet twister head. Nevertheless, you can invest in Hardfloor Brush and the AllTEQ cleaner head.
You also ought to stop and consider the cost of consumables. Miele produces bagged and bagless vacuum cleaners, and you have to choose between the two.
Bagged vacuums happen to be more expensive to maintain. You have to buy consumables in the form of dirt bags, and though they are inexpensive, they are not as cheap as the bagless vacuums. Moreover, I consider the later a pleasure to use as the solved the issue of fine dust flying and settling on your furniture.
However, none of the Miele bagless vacuums is as affordable as the Classic C1 suction. They all happen to be pricey, which is a shame considering that this is a lovely machine.
Miele Classic Compact, and Complete
Most Miele canister vacuums belong to one of these series, and you should be able to tell them apart to make a correct purchase.
The classic C1 is an entry-level Miele vacuum. As such, it does not have some of the superior features found on the Compact and the Complete series. It has a basic body, with semi-sealed filtration and dial control. The Classic though is affordable.
Moving up the series, you get the Compact. As the name suggests, it happens to be smaller than the Classic, and thus, it is more portable. It also has additional features. It is made of thicker plastic increasing the durability, it has a longer cord, the bristles are natural, the motor is quiet, the hose is crush-proof, and the unit is sealed. It does happen to be quite pricey, though.
Finally, there is the Complete C3 series. Any vacuum in this series is pricey. You will spend a fortune to purchase one of these vacuums. Nonetheless, it happens to have the best features Miele has to offer. There is the rubber bumper around all Complete C3 devices to protect it and the furniture against bumps. The machines are fully sealed and feature HEPA filters. The suction is automatic though they have a toe adjustment feature.
By and large, you will pay more for the Complete C3, but you will get unmatched quality.
We are nearly at the end of this review. I hope I have been of assistance. Allow me to answer some frequently asked questions about Miele vacuums before we go.
That’s a wrap folks; I hope I have been helpful and that you have taken as much out of this article as possible. If you did not find a device that meets your needs, I hope you at least learned how to purchase the best Miele vacuum.
I repeat that the Miele Complete C3 Marin is the Best Miele vacuum, but you can also purchase the Classic C1 Pure Suction if you are on a budget.
Thanks for reading this far, and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did.
